It starts with a simple phone call. I set aside time every week just for consultations. During these initial phone calls, I will review your case with you, explain your options and will honestly assess whether I think you have a legal case. At that time, we can decide whether it makes sense for us to work together.
What does it cost? When I represent injured people or people who are fighting against workplace injustice (plaintiffs), I do not charge for my time reviewing your case or representing you until we either settle or win a verdict at trial. In other words, I do not get paid until those clients get paid. When I help small businesses with employment law issues, contract issues, and other advice, I charge on an hourly basis. I make sure all clients have a retainer agreement that explains how this all works in detail.
